The 23nd Canadian Chess Challenge will be held at the University of Victoria May 22nd and 23rd, 2011. The Canadian Chess Challenge is an impressive event with 120 players from across Canada. This will be the first Canadian Chess Challenge to be held in Victoria and the first in BC in the history of the event. The Provincial Champion from each grade in each province is eligible to compete at the Canadian Chess Challenge.
As part of the Canadian Chess Challenge a Beach Chess Festival is planned for Willows Beach in Oak Bay (5 km from UVIC residences). Events are rain or shine. Preregistration for Blitz and the BBQ is mandatory and may be limited. Provincial Chess Champions and their families should register through their provincial coordinator. Please do not double register. The events are open to the public any age. Some events are free. Photos of Willows Beach.
